Rated 5 out of 5 by from I am in heaven. This timer is great. It has everything I need and nothing that I don't. The competing offerings from Gardena and Hozelok are easily S$50 more in Singapore. I am so glad I found this. I haven't seen this in the shops and I am so glad I found it at Horme. I have set it up in my bedroom balcony with a simple microspray system for my orchids and in a couple of weeks, I may dial it down a little to 3 minutes. In the meantime, my plants, especially the phals - are absolutely loving it. Loads of new growth. On my main balcony, I have an old Gardena solar powered timer that cost me in excess of S$200. Works the same. So price wise- this is a bargain. Believe me. Don't get me wrong. The Gardena timer has been with me for more than a decade and still works fine. But I paid a lot more for functions that in truth, I don't really need in the tropics. Design is great too (as one would expect from German products). I found this to be simpler to set up than the existing Gardena timer, which has more functions but really, more than what I need. Setup was a breeze. The interface is simple, no-nonsense. A plus is the fact that the timer unit can be removed and I can do the setup and tweak the timings in the living room or the study before I re-insert it at the watering point. The timer defaults to 5 min twice a day at 6 am and 6 pm, which is fine for me. The plants get watered in the morning before the sun rises and have a chance to soak up the water and dry off in the day. In the evening, it has the chance to dry off before the sun sets.
